Definition:As a member of the WIC clinic team, this position is primarily responsible for servicing participants on the program, as well as teaching nutrition education classes, promoting nutrition education and lactation promotion and support. This position is 100% direct client service.
Reports To: Clinic Supervisor, in charge
Qualifications:1.High school diploma or GED (General Educational Development ) certificate.2.Must pass WIC teaching abilities interview.3.Knowledge of the policies and procedures for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program as they relate to the position.4.A working knowledge of clinic procedures.5.Fluency in English (speak, read and write).6.Fluency in Spanish, Armenian or Vietnamese (speak, translate, read and write) is preferred.7.Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), ISIS database systems.8.Effective verbal and written communication and teaching skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.9.Very effective oral and written communications skills including public speaking experience.10.Effective work organization skills.11.Ability to work effectively as a team player.12.Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.13.Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.14.Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.15.Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision.
