As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles. The GO Expansion scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

      Purpose of the Job

      The Operation and Maintenance Interfaces Lead Engineer will define and manage the relationship between Electro Mechanical (E&M) Subsystems (Rolling Stock, Signalling, Supervision, Telecommunications, Power Supply,…) provided by Alstom and the O&M partner.

      Responsibilities

      • Define the System Interface management process relevant to O&M : interface identification, interface register, requirements identification, acceptance and demonstration,
      • Define the relevant Interface Control Documents (SICD) or equivalent (such Open Track files) that will define the requirements, performance evaluation and relevant agreements
      • Ensure interface consistency and completeness by reviewing design of subsystems and actively participating in requirements management process
      • Manage the detailed interfaces definition (Software Interface Design Description (SIDD), cabling consistency, …) relevant to O&M
      • Prepare and support integration and validation phase
      • Identify risks, scope gaps and grey areas and escalates as needed in order to grant the schedule

      Educational requirements

      University Degree in Engineering

      Licensed with Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng.) preferred

      Qualifications

      • Field experience and a good knowledge of railway operations, available E&M equipment and Subsystems
      • Fluent in English
      • Knowledge of the rail construction environment and engineering practices
      • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication
      • Self-motivated, detailed oriented ability to learn new techniques in a changing environment are desired. Knowledge of international standards
