      The University of Texas Permian Basin’s Admissions Office welcomes applications for the position of OC2UTPB (Odessa College 2 The University of Texas Permian Basin) Transfer Specialist.
      REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Admissions
      SALARY: $55,000
      GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The OC2UTPB Transfer Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for students transferring from Odessa College to UT Permian Basin. In addition to serving as the primary connection for all students transferring from Odessa College, the successful candidate will work with faculty, deans, and staff at both institutions to increase the transfer rate and bachelor degree completion of OC students. The position will be located 50% of the time at OC and 50% of the time at UTPB. The key success metrics for this position will be the number of students transferring from OC to UTPB, their retention rates once at UTPB, and their completion or graduation rates.
      SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
      1. Serve as the primary point of contact for OC students and assist OC transfer students throughout the admission process to UT Permian Basin as the transfer policy expert.
      2. Develop recruitment strategies and initiatives to increase the transfer rate of OC students to UT Permian Basin.
      3. Collaborate with Odessa Collegiate Academy Early College High School and our Academic Advising department to ensure a smooth transition for OCA students.
      4. Process admission applications, evaluate transfer records, and make recommendations and/or admission decisions in conjunction with other UTPB counselors and the Associate Director of Admissions.
      5. Organize, support, and attend Admissions events and programs both on and off campus.
      6. Manage the inter-institutional relationship between OC and UTPB, including the oversight of data sharing between the two schools.
      7. Work directly with Deans and faculty to manage articulation agreements and ensure full articulation of earned student coursework.
      8. Work with Deans and faculty to build new articulation agreements between OC and UTPB.
      9. Manage queries and create reports for the purpose of measuring, analyzing, and assessing admission data and Results.
      10. Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.
      11. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, colleagues, students, and members of the staff at OC and at UTPB.
      12. Be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects with skill and great attention to detail, and provide extraordinary customer service.
      13. Provide effective, dynamic presentations and speak in front of both small and large groups of people.
      14. Confer regularly with immediate supervisor, other departments and university personnel, and various firms/organizations/individuals external to the two institutions to exchange information and resolve problems.
      15. Be self-motivated to stay current with emerging office technologies, and recommend and implement Improvements.

      SCHEDULE:
      This is a non-exempt position and your expected work schedule is Monday through Friday. This position will require some pre-scheduled Saturday events periodically (4-5 times) throughout the year.

      CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
      1. Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. Once hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of the hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Employees must be able and willing to travel and perform duties away from campus as necessary and must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
