      Job Summary
      The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist provides technical and operational support to the Industrial Hygienist for the TGH Industrial Hygiene program. Assists Industrial Hygiene Manager in aspects of the program, as needed. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
      Duties & Responsibilities
      • Oversee and manage all aspects of the hospital's Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) program for construction and maintenance, including developing ICRA documents, training/education, and audits of active construction projects.
      • Participates in follow-up investigations to ensure corrective actions are carried out where required.
      • Responds to active water leaks to assess and offer remediation recommendations.
      • Use of Industrial Hygiene direct-reading instruments will be required.
      • Assists in chemical exposure monitoring of team members, including conducting sampling, completing chain-of-custody forms, interacting with consulting laboratories, and writing reports.
      • Will coach team members in real-time on EHS issues.
      • Responds in a timely manner to urgent issues as they develop.
      • Delivers presentations/education on topics related to OHSS work.
      • Calibrates Industrial Hygiene equipment.

      • Associate's Degree in Health & Safety, Healthcare, or other related field required.
      • Minimum of (2) years of related experience.
      • Science, Technical, and Military consulting backgrounds are recommended to apply
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
