Description:
Occupational Health Technician Position Summary Entry to developing individual contributor, who works under close supervision. Under the direction of a Licensed Physician and the Supervision of a Registered Nurse (OHN) and Administrative Coordinator, the Occupational Health Technician (OHT) coordinates both administrative and clinical tasks to facilitate the function of the Occupational Health clinic. Maintains working relationships with internal and external resources and agencies and performs administrative tasks. Adheres to established privacy, safety, and confidentiality regulations.
Principal Responsibilities Office
• Performs all administrative functions of the clinic, including answering phones, greeting clinic visitors, electronic medical records (EMR) preparation.
• Provides administrative support including calendar management, appointment scheduling and office management.
• Completes and tracks monthly budget reports.
• Maintains metric databases via Pharmaceutical programs and spreadsheets.
• Coordinates meetings, maintains clinic schedule and assists with projects.
• Promote well-being resources and programs across your site, region, country, and/or globally to enhance our total employee health and well-being portfolio.
• Facilitates the delivery of necessary office set -up for other Employee Health & Well-Being (EHW) staff and partners such as Dedicated Workplace Support (DWS) and Wellness.
Clinical
• Perform basic clinical tests such as vital signs, vision, phlebotomy, hearing and spirometry screening.
• Performs clinical duties as designated within this document in accordance with Pharmaceutical protocols and State Law.
• Prepares employees for medical examination including EMR forms and documentation, entering case/visit information into EMR and assisting the OHN or Physician during an examination.
• Keeping exam rooms, storage and inventory space clean and organized.
• Triage incoming calls, emails, walk-ins and perform minor first aid care under the direction of the OHN or Physician.
• Maintains recordkeeping and scheduling for medical surveillance and wellness exams.
• Coordinates Wellness programs such as Flu vaccine clinic, Biometric Wellness screenings, and various year-round Wellness promotional events.
• Collaborates with the OHN and the site Safety team in medial surveillance management. • Partners with OHN, HR, Safety, and site management teams to assure integrated team approach to problem solving.
• Participates as an active member of the First Aid/Emergency Response Team.
• Participates in onsite teams as indicated.
Decision-Making & Problem Solving Occupational Health Technician
Strong organizational and communication skills required. Ability to maintain confidentiality a must. Must comply with local and state laws, and regulatory requirements. Must comply with limitations of scope of practice. Knowledge of OSHA, FMLA, ADA preferred.
External & Internal Interactions Must be able to interact with all levels of employees and management. Expect interaction with both internal and external contacts.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
• Position requires inclusion into Bloodborne Pathogens program.
• Active participant of site Emergency Response Team
Qualifications Required
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assisting Certification
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and time management skills.
• A sense of urgency while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
• The ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
• CPR/FA/AED, Spirometry and Hearing Conservation certification required within first 90 days of employment.
Preferred
• A minimum of 3 years administrative experience in Healthcare or Human Resources
• Experience with expediting purchase orders and using payAbout the company
