      Position Summary/Job Duties:

      CLEANING GUIDE
      VACUUM: carpet
Under desks, chairs, and through main walking spaces.
      ● Vacuum back room every couple weeks/when needed.
      ● Empty filter & collection compartment.
Vacuum 3rd floor space as-needed or once/month (unless area becomes more used).
      ● Use the elevator near the back stairs to bring cleaning supplies up/down.
      TRASHES
Check and empty six small trash bins, two recycles, and one main trash bin (kitchen).
      ● Small trash liners (semi-transparent) should be replaced if there is any food residue or
perishable trash. If just paper or non-perishable, can dump contents into another bag to
be disposed of instead of replacing the entire liner.
      ● Large blue recycle bin trash liner generally becomes full and can be replaced. Contents in
the black crate under the microwave can be dumped into the same bag and disposed of
      together.
      ● Main silver trash in the kitchen area gets emptied with a new liner each time. If there is
room, combine small trash liners into the large one.
      ● Once a month, clean out the fridge for expired/old items. If there are unlabeled items,
only toss if they have been there the entire month. If you are ever unsure, always ask.
      ● Take bags down the back stairs and dispose into the correct bins (trash in front, recycle
      in back).
      ● When needed, empty shredded bin with recycle.
      DUST & DESK CLEAN
Use a dust rag to wipe down all countertops, shelving, and desk surfaces. Spray down with
all-purpose cleaner if visible grease or mess of any kind.
      ● On desks, avoid re-arranging or touching files, items, or computer space - wipe around
      these.
      ● Cubbies with shoes can be wiped with a separate rag if dirtied (especially in winter)
      every couple weeks.
      ● In the TV room, clean any glass of smudges with glass cleaner and arrange pillows on
      chairs to upright positions.
o Tidy clutter on shelves or the coffee table when needed.
      o Dispose of dead leaves.
Wipe down the back room once/month or as needed.
      ● With a new rag, wipe down the kitchen countertop, table, and sink countertop and
      faucet handles.
      ● Wipe the mirror with a glass cleaner.
      ● With the vinegar spray, fully wet the sink and wipe clean. Run cold water to wash away
      remaining residue.
o Avoid spraying cutlery or dishware - move to the side (not cleaners’ responsibility
      to clean).
      ● Wipe down the inside of the fridge once/month.
      ● Depending on frequency of use, vacuum the 3rd floor office and wipe down desks.
      FLOORS: hard wood
Dry mop floors and then wet mop.
      ● Can use the broom & dustpan or gray dust collector mophead to gather loose debris,
dirt, food (and salt in winter), etc. from hard floor surfaces.
o Floor mats can be swept or vacuumed.
      ● Wet mop with floor cleaner (see homemade recipe* if there is no store-bought option).
o Generously spray floor with cleaner and mop all hard wood.
o Pay attention to corners where dirt easily collects.
o Likely will need to be done regularly in the rainy/snowy seasons but can be done
once/week or as-needed during dry seasons.
Clean the front stairwell and entryway of leaves, salt, and dirt at least once/month (more often
      during rainy/snowy seasons).
      ● Sweeping tends to work best.
*Cleaner recipe: (floor and desk spray)
