      Job Description

If so, the Utah Department of Commerce's Division of Real Estate invites you to explore an exciting opportunity! We're seeking a dynamic individual to join us as a Real Estate Licensing Specialist. In this Office Specialist I role, you'll tackle engaging licensing and administrative responsibilities, playing a vital part in our dedication to excellence in real estate licensing.
      **This position will work in the office for training (up to 6 months) and then will have the opportunity to telework up to 3 days per week if eligibility requirements are met.
      ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      As a Real Estate Licensing Specialist, you will be one of the frontline ambassadors for our division, delivering exceptional customer service with a focus on reliability and dependability. Your role will entail mastering various processes, policies, statutes, regulations, and rules pertinent to real estate licensing. Precision and timeliness in data entry are paramount. Your roles and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
      • Timely reviewing, analyzing, and processing real estate, sales agent, broker, company applications, renewals, affiliation changes, etc.
      • Processing real estate, qualifying education, and continuing education course applications and renewals.
      • Receiving and responding to direct phone calls, Live Chat, and in-person conversations from the general public and real estate licensees.
      • Writing or drafting correspondence, reports, documents, and/or other written materials.
      • Retrieving data found in databases to generate requested reports.
      • Actively assisting team members with real estate duties as assigned.

Your comfort with common computer applications is matched by your strong ability to grasp, apply, and clearly articulate complex processes, licensing laws, and regulations.
      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • 1+ years of customer service in a customer service or public-facing role.
      • 1+ years of experience using strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write emails and respond to inquiries clearly and professionally, as well as proper handling of confidential information.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

      PREFERRED
      • Work experience in a government entity.
      • Work experience in real estate, appraisal, and/or mortgage field.
      • The ability to enter data accurately and timely.

        • Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
        • Annual leave amounts increase with years of service.
        • We have 12 paid holidays.

      • Classification: Office Specialist I (11020).

      • As a condition of employment with the Department of Commerce, employees shall receive compensatory time off in lieu of payment in cash for all overtime worked under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

      • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
