Developing and maintaining relationship with executives and staff, vendors, and consultants, as well as team members in other offices
Mastering knowledge of the Wesco/Anixter inforce Sun Life benefits, leave plans and other benefits
Understanding and actively operating within Client’s administration systems to gather employee status information regarding Leave, time worked and status
Facilitating communication regarding leave requests status between employees, HR team members, and managers
Proactively sharing insight and experience of leave administration, disability coverages and plan management with Sun Life Client’s employees and HR team members
Participating in client’s Human Resource and team meetings to answer questions regarding Sun Life’s benefits and leave plans to questions for the client
Integrating knowledge of Sun Life, leave plans, systems and products with the internal processes, and products to address the needs of the client
Tracking and researching leave claim activity through Sun Life systems as well as Wesco/Anixter systems
Answering questions regarding the plan structure, administration and application of leave plans
Assisting in claims submission by identifying missing information, and ensuring Wesco/Anixter is providing the employer requirements
Monitoring claims progression through the Sun Life process, answering any status questions and facilitate follow up or gathering of additional information to aid in the claims review process
Proactively communicating with leave and claims examiners regarding trends, needs and employee level experience.
Bachelor’s degree or associate Degree with 2+ years of related work experience
Strong computer skills, basic math skills and excellent data entry skills
Payroll systems experience
Experience administering FMLA/other leave/absence management programs
Ability to work successfully with a diverse range of people
Demonstrated experience in working with senior populations or the correct temperament for working with the senior population
Ability to handle difficult customer service situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Superior listening skills, presentation skills and strong attention to detail

Southern region: $61,700 – 92,600 annually
Central region: $65,000 – 97,500 annually
Northern region: $69,500 – 104,300 annually

The opportunity:
In the role of On-Site Leave Specialist, you will be responsible for the intake and resolution of inquiries, issues, and /or general service requests for all questions related to leave, short- or long-term disability, workplace accommodation and other services provided by Sun Life to our client.
The position is accountable for bringing all customer issues to resolution accurately, efficiently and in full communication to all appropriate individuals and teams at Sun Life. You will partner with various stakeholders such as the payroll department, human resources, benefits department, and managers, and other personnel as needed to field questions and provide training/ information regarding the services for our client.

If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $58,900 – 88,400 annually.
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $69,500 – 104,300 annually.
If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $65,000 – 97,500 annually.
We consider various factors in determining actual pay including your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to salary, this position is eligible for incentive awards based on individual and business performance as well as a broad range of competitive benefits.
