      About the job

      The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an OpenShift Specialist Solution Architect to join our OpenShift Launch Team. In this role, you'll leverage expertise in container, virtualization, management and orchestration, and application runtime technologies to help Red Hat Customers derive business value from their OCP environment. You'll work with our customers to recognize their current and desired state of container and cloud native application adoption. Ultimate success in the role is determined by helping customers reach their desired state through consumption of the Red Hat portfolio. You'll need to have deep technical expertise, passion for open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and create business solutions at the enterprise level. As a Specialist Solution Architect, you will specialize in Red Hat's container and application technologies, architectures, and solutions in public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, integrating the same with 3rd party tools necessary for cloud native application development and deployment. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

      What you will do

      • Present Red Hat OpenShift technology and solutions to customers and partners, addressing complex requirements, designing value-driven architectures, and explaining the value of these solutions to guide Red Hat OpenShift sales.
      • Gain deep understanding of customer business and IT environments and serve as an advocate for customer priorities with Business teams.
      • Drive adoption and consumption of OpenShift commensurate with customer metrics.
      • Gain and develop an understanding of the customer's current state architecture, key metrics, workloads, development environment, lines of business concerns and coordinate with partners and Red Hat Consulting.
      • Maintain a catalog of potential OCP workloads by leveraging the cumulative experience and knowledge from working with other customers.
      • Identify, execute and lead customer events to drive visibility and demand for migrating and building applications to OpenShift and its ecosystem for.
      • Execute and lead customer events for onboarding and enablement to OpenShift as an application platform to drive customer success.
      • Become a trusted advisor to customer teams by closely enabling and mentoring customer development teams in the development and deployment of applications to production on OpenShift and 3rd party tools for meaningful outcomes to delight customers.


      What you will bring

      • Experience in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture or equivalent in supporting large organizations.
      • Ability to understand customers' challenges, requirements and technical issues and collaborate to address those with the appropriate technologies and solutions.
      • Positive team player attitude and strong desire to make our customers successful.
      • Extensive knowledge of application runtimes, enterprise container architectures and solutions, Kubernetes, Linux, and other cloud native technologies.
      • Experience deploying and running container solutions in private, public, and hybrid clouds.
      • Experience with Agile Frameworks and principles with deep knowledge of agile methods and practices such as Lean, Kanban, Scrum, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), Test Driven Development (TDD) and pairing.
      • Ability to have conversations at multiple levels within the customer environment - DevOps, Architects, Developers, Infrastructure, Security, and IT Leadership.
      • Experience with a digital transformation effort as a consultant or as an end user.
      • Experience with formal and objective application portfolio rationalization.
      • 5+ years of experience in application development and enterprise application architecture, including microservices; experience in field engineering pre-sales is a plus.
      • Experience with/in delivering applications to production with Java development frameworks like Spring, Netflix OSS, Eclipse Vert.x or Play and other additional technologies like Node.js, Ruby, PHP, Go, or .NET development.
      • Experience with configuring and consuming modern application delivery tools, including those from project management (PM), git-based source code management (SCM), artifact repository, integrated development environment (IDE), CI/CD pipeline, code build, test suite, static application security testing (SAST), application vulnerability scanner (AVS), runtime security scanner, and telemetry dashboard tool categories in development and deployment of applications to production.
      • Experience with instrumenting, collecting and radiating development and operational metrics.
      • Knowledge of Edge and/or Artificial Intelligence technologies.
      • Experience with competitive offerings within the technology areas described above.
      • Excellent communication, presentation, documentation and problem solving skills, with a record of developing relationships at technical, management, and executive levels.
      • Willingness to travel within the geo up to 30-50% of the time.


      The salary range for this position in NY and CA is typically $188,020 - $300,800 OTE. Salary range is inclusive of base plus target commission. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. This position may be eligible for equity.
