What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee daily operations of the Coding Department, providing direction and mentoring to staff
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and ensure competencies are met
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and design workflow processes for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with management on staff performance reviews and budget preparation
- Train new hires and assist in the development of department policies and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credentialed
- Minimum of 5 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare setting
- Leadership experience in a healthcare environment
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 7 years of coding experience in an acute healthcare setting
