This position is full-time, working 40 hours per week, benefits eligible, and exempt.

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the Perioperative Technicians,. The Operations Supervisor is the primary designee for quality and service for the Perioperative Technicians and maintains accountability to support their customers; NCH Patients, Anesthesia and the OR Team.

Responsibilities
• Supervises and prioritizes the daily work of Periop Technician, which includes but is not limited to assuring appropriate daily staffing levels, and appropriate supply and/or equipment availability each day. Ensures that all anesthesia equipment is maintained in proper working order. May be required to function as a Periop Tech when staffing levels are short.• Ensures that all customers (Anesthesia and OR) are always receiving the highest levels of support and service .• Creates and maintains an effective and efficient Periop Tech staff schedule• Responsible for screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified applicants• Responsible for training, prioritizing tasks, and serves as a resource and role model for the Periop Techs. Evaluates performance and takes appropriate corrective action as needed.• Ensures appropriate infection control policies and procedures are observed and practiced by staff.• Coordinates routine and emergency repair of all equipment with representatives from Biomedical Engineering; ensures that equipment is maintained in sound working order.• Maintains a clean, safe patient care and workspace environment.• Works in the role as a working supervisor and balances work time and office time, maintaining a presence on the floor of approximately 70.• Must periodically come in and/or work off regular shifts to observe actions of second and third shift and to have the opportunity to seek input from other shift OR employees as necessary.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Skills: Personally committed to patient safety and NCH Core Values. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively and efficiently under pressure in a high-stress environment, often without relief. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and respond appropriately to life threatening situations. Demonstrates a positive team member attitude and ability to maintain good working relationships with all levels of hospital staff.Experience: Three years of supervisory experience highly desirable. One to three years of clinical experience (or supporting clinical operations). Demonstrated experience and knowledge relating to surgical and anesthesia procedures in order to effectively anticipate inventory and equipment needs.MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipmentAbility to stand, walk, push, pull, kneel, reach overhead and rotate trunk for prolonged periods (8+ hours) and independently lifting 25 lbsAbility to see, hear, stand, walk, speak English, read English and perform basic math calculationsThe above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
