      Job summary

      Ilford Medical Centre is seeking a highly motivated and capable Operations Manager to support the ongoing delivery of high-quality, efficient, and patient-centred care. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Practice Manager and wider management team to ensure the smooth running of all operational and administrative functions within the practice.

      With a patient list of circa 16,000 and a longstanding reputation for innovation, clinical excellence and staff development, Ilford Medical Centre plays a central role in the local healthcare system. We are proud to lead our Primary Care Network (PCN), contribute actively to the Local Medical Committee (LMC), and engage in community outreach initiatives that extend our impact beyond the consulting room.

      We are also a well-regarded teaching and training practice, committed to investing in the development and wellbeing of our staff at every level.

      Main duties of the job

      Main Duties and Responsibilities

      • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficient systems and processes.
      • Line manage and support administrative and reception teams, promoting a positive, high-performing culture.
      • Coordinate staff rotas, manage recruitment and induction, and ensure training and development are in line with practice needs.
      • Maintain compliance with CQC standards, health and safety regulations, GDPR, and other relevant legislation.
      • Support financial and budgetary planning in collaboration with the Practice Manager.
      • Manage supplier relationships and procurement of medical and office supplies.
      • Ensure all operational policies and procedures are up to date and adhered to.

      • Lead on IT systems maintenance and data protection in collaboration with the QITC lead.g)Ensure effective delivery of patient services, including complaints management and feedback systems.h)Support the development and implementation of practice strategy, risk analysis, and business continuity planning.
