      To ensure all of the site processes operate both safely and effectively to fulfil operational requirements and achieve site key performance measures.

      To plan, organise and control production to ensure finished goods are produced efficiently and in line with the site budget

      Job Description

      AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / KEY TASKS

      • Ensure HSE compliance and nurture a proactive approach to HSE amongst employees
      • Implement process improvements to improve plant performance, productivity and reduce manufacturing costs
      • Manage training and development of employees in production department
      • Maintain and create OSP’s for manufacturing Plants and ensure employee compliance
      • Control of overtime in production plants
      • Ensure material usage and utilities usage are within agreed standards
      • Ensure product conformity to meet agreed quality standards
      • Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues in all plants
      • Ensure compliance with ISO systems, GMP and RSPO
      • Develop skills and competence of production team to deliver site results via Workday
      • Carrying out Year End and Mid Year Reviews with direct reports in Workday
      • Use root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.

      SOCIAL INTERACTION

      • Effective leadership skills, able to work together with plant staff and management
      • Pro-actively participate in the site management team to ensure site KPI’s are attained and personal goals are met
      • Work with engineering team to ensure plant availability and successful execution of capital projects
      • Work with supply chain to agree production plan and priorities
      • Resolve customer complaints in conjunction with Quality Manager
      • Liaise with laboratory and logistics to ensure product is tested and shipped on time and in full
      • Work with sales team and customer service on customer priorities and new innovation projects
      • Work with suppliers on technical requirements and price negotiations

      SPECIFIC ROLE REQUIREMENTS

      • Proficient in Microsoft Office
      • Experience of Oracle/JDE or similar ERP systems
      • Prior experience of leading a team and resource planning in manufacturing environment
      • Experience of batch and continuous chemical processes.
      • Experience of bulk solids handling
      • Experience of working in a fast moving 24/7 manufacturing environment.

      • Financial acumen

      EDUCATION AND TRAINING

      • BEng (Hons) in engineering discipline, preferably chemical engineering
      • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
      • 3-4 years management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Chemical or processing background
