Position Summary:
We are currently looking for an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager oversees operational activities at every level of the organization. This role includes planning, directing and coordinating the operations of the assigned organization. The Operations Manager is also responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the business.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· Capable of resolving complex issues/problems utilizing comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes with focus on advanced CNC machining and assembly operations in an Aerospace / Defense manufacturing environment.
· Full responsibility for managing all people and processes involved in the operations portion of the business.
· Manage the development, and monitor execution, of all manufacturing schedules and fulfillment operations on a day-to-day basis to meet goals of the business.
· Establish and monitor production and quality control standards to meet customer OTD and Quality goals.
· Ensures that the organization complies with all requirements of the quality management system, and works to continually improve operations from a quality systems perspective.
· Assist in the development of departmental budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectives.
· Develop and recommend short and long-term objectives, consistent with organization guidelines and broader corporate strategy elements.
· Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output.
· Ensure operations conform to the organization’s policies and procedures, values, and federal, state, and local regulations.
· Coordinate team members recruitment and selection, career development, and performance assessment.
· Drive continuous improvement through deployment of best practices, such as Lean Six Sigma.
· Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
· Attend applicable internal or external customer meetings.
· Support new product introduction activities during the manufacturing phase.
· Maintain knowledge of current manufacturing and continuous improvement trends in the industry.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Business, Manufacturing, or Engineering. Equivalent managerial experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. Master’s degree a plus. 7-10 years of managing manufacturing operations experience required, including experience effectively managing a multi-functional team of both hourly and salary employees. Hands-on familiarity with use of ERP-based shop floor control software with planning functionality required. Familiarity with Epicor ERP desired. In-depth knowledge of CNC machining and/or assembly practices highly desirable. Thorough understanding of standard MS software (Excel, PPT, Outlook, etc.).
