Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Omaha

Reporting to: General Manager

Essential Job Functions :

• Responsible for the efficient and effecti ve operation of all aspects of the Facility.
• Oversees efficiency through monit oring production, scanning make- sheet s , and discuss ing daily goals with Superintendents.
• Directs Superintendents with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates .
• Handles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible, working closely with Human Resources department as necessary .
• Maintain s acceptable yield levels on all products while pro ducing product to specification .
• Perform daily safety walks and co rrect any non-compliance issues .
• Help develop the managemen t team of the Facility through active partici pation in group meetings.
• Trains and develops Superintendents providing guidance on managerial and teamwork skills to attain department objectives .
• Works closely with the Quality Assurance D epartment to ensure all product quality and food safety standards are enforced .
• Ensure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement is und erstood and enforced .
• Must maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and h elp add ress any USDA regulatory issues .
• Contribute to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures .
• Communicate to all le vels within the organization on information as needed.
• All other duties as directed by General Manager

Experience Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivale nt with preferred college degree, preferred but not required .
• Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience working in meat industry.

Skills/Abilities Required:

• Strong written and verbal English communica tion skills, problem solving skills and leadership qualities .
• P roficiency in Microsoft Office .
• Ability to establish and maintain working relatio nships and work collaboratively with other.
• Extensive knowledge of meat products, equipment and specifications .
• Must be able to work in a very cold , damp and noisy environment with possible slick floors and frequent exposure to knives, hot water and production machinery .
• Must be able to work flexible hours including some Saturday work .
• Bilingual skills a plus but not required .
