Work with the Director of Operations and Human Resources to establish staffing budgets by month for the coming year.
Work with the Director of Operations to establish Capital Expenditure and Expense Budgets for the coming year.
Lead a weekly meeting with team leads and inventory controllers within your branch to ensure consistent progress on goals and address any issues that arise.
- Walk and inspect the warehouse and EWP yard to ensure housekeeping and ensure employees are working in accordance with our company safety policies.
- Set up delivery routes that adhere to DOT requirements, meet or exceed customer expectations, and drive operational efficiency. Print and sort delivery tickets, assemble driver packets with route sheets, and email copies of route sheets to appropriate sales and office staff.
- Review and track all damaged product and inventory shortages and adjustments to identify trends, determine root causes and take necessary steps to reduce damage to zero.
- Work with direct reports to set meaningful individual and team goals in support of department and company goals.
- Run a daily startup meeting to train on best practices, review any mistakes or accidents, and establish priorities for the day.
- Review Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and address any issues. This will include sales orders entered prior day, and inventory adjustments.
- Actively participate with the Human Resources Department to interview and select top performers for your team.
- Assign daily work to your team to maximize efficiencies, reduce overtime, drive accountability, and improve overall team performance.
- Review monthly financial statements to actively manage expenses under your control.
- Review all management reports and labor efficiency ratios to ensure your branch is operating within normal bounds and trending in the right direction. Examples include the census report, overtime report, turnover report, ratios report, etc.
- Take corrective action with direct and down-line reports when necessary based on established policies and procedures. Work directly with the Human Resources Department to ensure everything is appropriately documented.
- Review annual budgets against Standard Operating Procedures and determine what if any changes need to be made to accommodate expected business volume for the coming year.
- Confer with purchasing and sales to coordinate warehouse and delivery activities.
- Review invoices, work orders, purchase orders, or demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments.
- Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
- Respond to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding warehousing and delivery services.
- Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
- Develop or implement plans for facility layout and modification, such as racking setup, equipment purchase or changes in space allocation.
- Coordinate with the Transportation Department to coach drivers on all flagged telematics incidents including speeding, DOT violations, and unassigned truck movements. Follow up with drivers as necessary.
- Track and trace goods while they are en route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary.
- Negotiate with carriers, equipment vendors, and other representatives for services and preferential rates.
- Participate in setting transportation and service rates.
- Examine products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage or transport.
- Develop storage and distribution models that include factors such as warehouse locations, customer locations, or available transportation modes to maximize operational efficiency or sustainability.
- Coordinate with the Director of Distribution & Safety Manager to plan and implement safety training programs and activities.

- 2 plus years of experience in management (preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Have a valid drivers license and an acceptable background check.
