- Supervises all production, warehouse, and technical employees either directly or indirectly.
- Monitors and reports daily production rates during daily/weekly meetings.
- Performs Root Cause Analysis to address production issues.
- Works with the Procurement Coordinator to maintains correct inventory stock levels based on safety stock levels, current orders, and future forecasts.
- Works with the Production Supervisor and Team Leaders to schedule and plan production lines daily/weekly. Communicates the plan to the team and executes.
- Understanding of Bills of Materials, routings, cycle times to establish production jobs within our ERP system.
- Uses Lean Manufacturing methodologies to improve production methods, equipment performance, process improvements, and quality of products.
- Maintains conformance with work rules and regulations. Issue warnings for violations and administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary.
- Works with all shifts team leaders, managers, and supervisors to create a harmonious environment to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Maintains a safe work environment for all employees while reducing injury rates.
- Ensures all employees have equal opportunities for employment and advancement.
- Works with Quality Department to ensure product quality to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup.
- Collaborates with supply chain function to assure production goals are met.
- Works with Corporate HR to interpret and enforces company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Establishes and adjusts employee work schedules to meet production schedules.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, and/or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Leads Lean Manufacturing projects such as Kaizen and 5S Initiatives.
- The individual must be able to work individually on assignments or as part of a diverse team to obtain desired results.
- The individual needs to show a demonstrated ability to motivate, lead, and encourage a safe working environment with strong morale and teambuilding
- Other duties deemed necessary by management.
- An individual who has a Bachelors Degree is strongly preferred.
- An individual with a minimum of 7 years in direct, hands-on manufacturing leadership positions with responsibility for Operations including production, scheduling, warehouse, maintenance, and inventory.
- An individual with good written and oral communication skills.
- An individual with strong hands-on experience in production planning and scheduling is required both manually and within the MRP system. This person directly schedules production.
- An individual with previous experience managing warehouse operations either directly or indirectly. Import/export knowledge is needed to some extent.
- An individual who has an understanding of blending chemicals and/or powders, powder/packet machines, liquid bottle filling would be a strong plus, although other industries will be considered. Basic technical knowledge of machinery, machine set ups, and preventative maintenance systems is required.
- An individual who is experienced using Microsoft Excel and strong ERP/MRP experience (JD Edwards/Oracle would be a strong plus). Other Microsoft applications, such as Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint will be used on a regular basis as well.
- An individual who has previous experience with lean manufacturing. We use the Kaizen tool, so an incoming knowledge of Kaizen event planning/implementation would be a plus. Six Sigma certification is preferred, but not required.
- An individual who is able to work with other business units to leverage BDP and initiatives for Continuous Improvement. May involve occasional travel.

What We Need:
We have an immediate opening for an Operations Manager at our facility in Walterboro, South Carolina! Walterboro is 30 minutes from Summerville, SC and conveniently located an hour outside of either Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA. We are currently seeking candidates who are local to the Walterboro area as we are not offering relocation assistance at this time.
The Operations Manager is a key position and member of the Floralife North America leadership team. He/she will be responsible for oversight and efficiency of all Production departments, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Customer Service Departments. The manager ensures that all groups are working efficiently for the safe and productive manufacture of quality products to ship on time.

This is an onsite position. Daily presence during production operations is required. The salary range for this position is $103,000 - $123,000 plus a 10% annual bonus potential.
