Operations Safety Officer

- Starting Salary: $120,000 - 130,000 annually
- Monday–Friday schedule; PST or MST time zone preferred
- Support the company’s and corporation’s Safety Management System (SMS) in all aspects.
- Conducts or supports investigation of accidents, incidents, and injuries.
- Evaluates processes and activities, utilizing quality management processes, to promote quality improvement.
- Identifies hazards and assists with safety, risk, and change management assessments.
- Conducts root cause analysis investigations and provides necessary recommendations on reports, or allegations received from the various company reporting systems as assigned.
- Coordinates and works closely with regional, clinical, operations, and maintenance directors on a routine basis.
- Provide guidance to Base Safety Representatives (BSR) on safety related issues within their assigned portfolio.
- Educate company personnel, vendors, and partners by communicating all aspects of corporate safety philosophy and initiatives.
- Measures company policies and regulatory compliance by conducting base audits and evaluations.
- Assign and monitor Corrective Action & Preventive Action (CAPA) plans for unsatisfactory findings during audits. Continually monitor operational activities to assist in identifying hazards, risks, and negative exposure to the operation.
- Assist in the facilitation of systems risk management (SRM) process with applicable disciplines. Participates in and promotes all aspects of the Regional Safety Leadership Program.
- Assist with an analysis of operational activities and safety trends of the assigned region.
- Participate in base, regional, and corporate level safety meetings and conference calls as required.
- Support operational leaders as a safety advisor.
- Will travel to all bases within the assigned region at the direction of the Director of Safety (DOS). Will instruct safety subject matter at the Corporate Academy as directed by the DOS.
- Five (5) years of experience as an EMS pilot, A&P mechanic, or EMS medical flight crew member (Paramedic, Nurse, Communications, or equivalent).
- Valid State Issued Driver's License
- Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
- FAA Certification as a Commercial pilot or A&P Mechanic, Paramedic or RN
- Experience meeting accreditation standards
- Must be able to push and/or pull 100+ lbs.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Associate's degree
- Power BI, AI, data analysis experience
- Seven (7) years of experience in air medical transport operations as a pilot, mechanic, and/or medical crew member.
