Louisiana Workforce CommissionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A baccalaureate degree plus one year of professional level experience in unemployment insurance; job placement; employer relations; human resources; labor market analysis; federal job training programs; labor relations or negotiations; management analysis; accounting; financial auditing; program auditing; workers' compensation; administrative services; social services; public benefits claims examining; eligibility determinations for federal needs based programs; or in program compliance.SUBSTITUTIONS:Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.A master's degree or Ph.D. in any field or a juris doctorate will substitute for the one year of required experience.NOTE:Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.Function of Work:

Job Distinctions:
Differs from ORS Specialist 1 by lack of complexity of job assignments or multiple functions.
Differs from ORS entry- level positions by degree of independent action taken or responsibility assigned.Examines, analyzes, implements collection and processes all information or paperwork as relates to unemployment insurance programs and related functions.
Identifies problems and takes corrective action if necessary.
Conduct and report field inspections and reviews to ensure public compliance with statutes and programs monitored or administered by state agency, and initiates prosecution or sanctions for violations.
Conducts program compliance audit and serves as a contact for employers in a specific program.
Communicates with the public and agency personnel on matters relating to the unemployment insurance programs and functions.About the company
