What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Facilitate audits of medical record documentation for outpatient encounters, including clinic visits and surgical procedures
- Utilize coding expertise to ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal guidelines
- Abstract information from electronic health records for the OP CDI Education database
- Support the Documentation & Coding Provider Education Program and data-driven resourcing
- Assist with identifying patterns and trends to aid in root cause analysis
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years coding experience required
- Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position required
- Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize work effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional specialty coding certification or 5-7 years coding experience preferred
- One to two (1-2) years of college or additional coursework in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Record Sciences preferred
- Specialty coding experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management
