      Job summary

      An opportunity has arisen with Derbyshire Community Outpatients for a dual role of outpatient sister and lead nurse for colposcopy.

      We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with previous colposcopy experience to be part of our friendly dynamic multidisciplinary team

      The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills and have experience in managing staff within a clinical environment.

      They will be expected to undertake audits and ensure delivery of a safe effective community colposcopy service.

      Applications should be self motivated, flexible , forward thinking and be able to lead and develop the nursing team.

      Main duties of the job

      Your main responsibilities will include:

      • responsibility for the management and delivery of clinical services within the outpatient department and colposcopy service
      • With support from senior sister and matron manage complaints, HR management, and resolution of incident forms and local governance issues.
      • Providing professional leadership and management to all non-medical members of staff and work in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
      • To work in partnership with senior sister, matron, service manager, and Head of service to manage provision and modify clinic resources and any strategic issues associated with the clinic. Ensuring that at all time there is appropriate clinical cover for the department and adjusting and escalating where required in order to ensure that clinical standards are maintained at all times.
      • Review patients referred to Colposcopy clinic.
      • Escalate abnormal pathologies to the colposcopist.
      • Ensure accurate and timely input of data onto the colposcopy database so that robust information is collected, reported, and used to improve and provide better care.
      • Have sufficient knowledge and adhere to existing failsafe mechanisms in place, ensuring patient waiting times, appointments, letters, and results are managed according to NHS Cervical Screening national guidelines.
