What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Code ambulatory surgery and outpatient IVR accounts accurately according to ICD-10-CM guidelines
- Review clinical documentation to extract data for coding and reimbursement purposes
- Utilize encoder software to ensure accurate APC assignment and compliance
- Query physicians for additional information to clarify diagnoses and procedures
- Maintain coding practices that align with established compliance guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Graduate required
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required
- Minimum of 1 year of coding experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy & physiology required
- Previous medical coding experience required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional certifications in coding specialties
- Experience with complex cardiac procedures and IVR coding
- Familiarity with encoder software and coding compliance standards
