What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop legal strategies and summarize relevant documents
- Prepare for trials and depositions by organizing exhibits and trial notebooks
- Draft legal documents and conduct complex legal research independently
- Serve as a liaison with opposing counsel regarding discovery plans
- Investigate case facts and gather evidence to support litigation efforts
What is Required (Qualifications):
- A combination of four years of experience through paralegal certification, a two-year paralegal degree, or related paraprofessional experience
- Three years' experience as a Paralegal 1 in Washington State Service
- Knowledge of paralegal processes and trial preparation
- Experience with state and federal court filing procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with electronic discovery processes
- Experience utilizing court systems such as Odyssey and JIS/JABS
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a legal context
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
