What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide litigation support to attorneys, including trial and deposition preparation
- Draft legal documents and handle electronic discovery
- Conduct complex legal research and review agency records
- Collaborate with attorneys in developing legal strategies and summarizing relevant documents
- Manage case documents, files, and exhibits, and track discovery documents
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Combination of four years of experience through paralegal certification, a two-year paralegal degree, or paraprofessional experience in support of an attorney
- Three years of experience as a Paralegal 1 in Washington State Service may substitute for the above
- Experience preparing legal pleadings and correspondence
- Knowledge of social and health services cases and case management systems
- Ability to manage critical dates, service of legal documents, and organize discovery documents
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with specific case management systems such as LINX, SCOMIS/JIS, Odyssey, Westlaw, Famlink, SEMS, and ACES
- Familiarity with juvenile dependency and program-wide legal issues
