      The Global Mobility and Migration (GMM) paralegal will assist the GMM team with managing the mobility needs of clients. As a paralegal with 4+ years experience, you will be responsible for handling high-volume visa processing for employment based categories including H, L, TN, E-3, E-1/E-2, O-1, PERM, and EB1/2/3.

      Responsibilities

      Essential Functions:

      • Prepare US employment-based, non-immigrant and immigrant visa filings to US Department of Labor, US Citizenship and Immigration Services, US Department of State and US Customs and Border Protection
      • Draft PERM Labor Certification advertisement text, prevailing wage requests, and recruitment documents, and prepare PERM applications and compliance files, meticulously tracking timelines of each step along the PERM case lifecycle
      • Compile immigration eligibility documents and analyze individuals’ potential immigration benefits, including H-1B, E-3, L-1, TN, E-1/E-2 and O-1 visa processing
      • Communicate clearly and effectively, based on attorney advice, on immigration benefits, government procedures and case processing time lines
      • Meticulously track and report on visa expiration dates and filing deadlines
      • Maintain client files online and offline
      • Respond to immigration inquiries in a timely manner and adhering to submission deadlines
      • Mentor and train junior paralegal staff when required
      • During absences acts as back-up to other paralegals for specific case projects
      • Other duties as requested by attorneys and manager

      Qualifications

      Education/Training/Certifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree with solid academic credentials and 4+ years’ of relevant experience required

      Professional Experience:

      • Experience must include managing various priorities simultaneously in a high-volume and fast-paced environment required
      • Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm required
      • Strong organizational and case management skills to manage multiple cases at different stages required

      Specific Technical Skills:

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
      • Proficiency in legal terminology and immigration database software, such as INSZoom or similar required

      Performance Traits:

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside parties such as filing vendors and personnel at jurisdictions of filing
      • Detail-Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well
      • Must possess a desire to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, an attention to detail, strong organizational skills and enjoy providing top quality customer service skills to assist our growing GMM team in managing the mobility needs of our diverse, Fortune 500 client base
      • Goal Completion: Inspired to perform well by the completion of tasks
      • Must possess a curiosity to learn new areas of the law and think creatively, as we seek to provide all team members with a diverse portfolio of immigration and mobility matters
      • Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm

      • Ability to anticipate needs of lawyers and paralegals

      • Strong sense of accountability for responsiveness and professional work product

      Physical Requirements:

      • May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs
      • Travel as neeed
