IP, Trade secret, business litigation, and complex business tort practice seek a veteran litigation paralegal to manage the Senior Litigation Partner's caseload, legal assistant and coordinate associate assignments. Case and calendar management as well as in-court skills are ideal. Federal practice experience is a must.....California and/or Texas, Arizona, and Nevada state law procedure knowledge is a plus.
Responsibilities
• Calendaring deadlines and managing the trial and appearance calendar
• Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer
• Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
• Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues
• Coordinate law office activity, including the drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
Qualifications
• Seven (7) or more years of litigation experience with 4 years in litigation practice
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
• Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference
