      Position Summary/Job Duties:

Parents of a 9 year old autistic and ADHD girl looking for someone to come help watch and play with her after school about 3-5pm, ideally 10 hrs a week. Mom is an artist who works from home art studio in basement. Mom also has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and has increased pain and fatigue in the afternoons, so childcare after school needed.

Our daughter is an energetic, kind, smart girl who is probably the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. When others are hurt or sad, daughter wants to give hugs and support. She is very curious and loves art, her dog, and playing with her dolls and stuffies. We are seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic person to engage in activities with her and assist with daily care and regulation.

We have a swing set in our fenced-in backyard and there are several parks within easy walking distance.

An ideal candidate would have experience babysitting (especially for neurodivergent children), be comfortable making or getting basic snacks, and can tolerate a dog. We have a very calm 60 pound Husky/Malamute mix, perhaps the only one of her breed! She’s a sleepy potato most of the day, but she loves to zoom through the backyard and make our daughter giggle! We are also a good resource for learning about neurodivergence and are wiling to educate if you don't have experience working with neurodivergent kids.

      Qualifications:

Experience with childcare. Some knowledge of child development a plus. Experience working with neurodivergent children preferred but not required. No degree required.

You must also be able to pass a caregiver’s background check.

      Physical Demands

Playing in backyard with child, walking under a mile to park

      Application Instructions:

Please email resume/relevant experience and contact information. References are a plus but not required.
