What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations and pre-certifications for services
- Communicate with payers, providers, and patients to resolve authorization issues and ensure timely care
- Document authorization-related information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Process referrals and coordinate with various departments to facilitate patient care
- Participate in improving departmental processes to enhance operational efficiency

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, managed care, or patient registration
- 1+ years of experience with health insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial carriers
- 1+ years of experience working with an EMR system
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 1+ years of experience in an acute care billing or insurance verification department
- Previous experience with prior authorizations and referrals
- Familiarity with Epic medical records and medical terminology
- Experience in customer service within a healthcare setting
