      The Role

      You are responsible for the collection, monitoring and reporting of the vast and growing a16z portfolio on the Standard Metrics platform. Engage and partner with founders, Portfolio Company finance teams and internal business stakeholders in providing real-time analysis and reporting. Ensuring accuracy, adoption and completion of quarterly financials and metrics, in support of firm, fund and other ad-hoc reporting. Build and scale a16z’s portfolio monitoring tool.

      • Build a world class portfolio monitoring platform that generates real-time reporting
      • Collaborate and partner with our portfolio companies and internal stakeholders
      • Monitor key performance indicators and provide analysis and insights to support decision-making processes
      • Roll up your sleeves and get into the details and build for scale across the expansive a16z portfolio companies
      • Ensure accuracy, adoption and completion of quarterly financials and metrics in support of the firm, funds, and other ad-hoc reporting needs
      • Work independently and collaboratively with portfolio companies and cross-functional teams within a16z

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Minimum of 7 years experience in financial analysis and portfolio financial reporting across many varying start-ups
      • Strong command and understanding of the 3 financial statements (Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Income Statement), how they move between statements and how they impact the business
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport and build relationships
      • Strong analytical, financial reporting and problem-solving skills
      • Be a team player, adaptable, strong work ethic, great attention to detail and drive
      • Self-motivated, proactive, and results oriented
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, financial modeling, and data analysis
      • You’re a natural builder, curious, hard working, accountable and genuine
      • Have passion for entrepreneurship and a desire to contribute to the success of the companies

      The anticipated salary range for this role is between $189,000-$221,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

      This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
