Negotiating high-value contracts and setting up partnership arrangements.
Identifying and pursuing opportunities for strategic partnerships to drive revenue and growth.
Manages the identification and qualification of opportunities to maximise revenue and proactively responds to identified business opportunities.
Develops customer value proposition as well as business model for entry into identified / opportunities.
Develops and ensures implementation of business cases that enable long term valuable partnerships.
Involved in negotiations and facilitates participation in new markets
Works closely with existing business units to either integrate new business opportunities with existing initiatives within the business or sets up new complementary units
Ensures that communication marketing and distribution strategies are in place and are aligned to existing units and initiatives as well as governances
Determines MOUs, commercial agreements and service level agreements with service providers and partners and ensures compliance thereof takes appropriate action should there be deviations
Ensures that the required governance financial controls and management information are in place when new initiatives are launched
Builds relationships and networks with external stakeholders and potential alliances to maximise lead identification and knowledge of market trends and best practices
Executes on the short and long-term strategic plans for industry verticals to increase revenue.
Leads the account and relationship management and execution plan for new and existing partnerships, ensuring that Our Business and partners’ business objectives are met.
Works with cross functional teams to ensure partner implementations are on track and delivering against plan
Takes the lead in solving the problems that arise during the execution of programs with partners.
Proactively identifies and solves complex problems that impact the management, relationship, and direction of the business
Accountable for optimizing resources to achieve volume and revenue targets.
Delivers financial objectives, which include revenue and cost objectives
Understands and articulates how Our Business’s financial solutions will drive commercial value to partners
Identifies, size and pitches for new business opportunities by analysing clients’ market positioning, product profile and strategy
Fosters client-centric collaboration across Our Business’s functional teams to ensure effective delivery of relevant financial solutions
Works with clients on ways to maximize profitability by offering advice on the development of target markets, product development, analytics and relevant best practice
Responsible for achieving or exceeding partner satisfaction.
Continuously review SSA landscape, identifying and developing opportunities that will position Our Business as the market leader and partner of choice.
Ensure effective people management and development to meet current and future business needs
Manage financial non-financial resources.

A leader with a strong sense of urgency and purpose
Commercially minded business/operational/finance expert with a track record of delivery as well as a growth-oriented mindset and track record of performance

A natural leader with ‘outside the box’ thinking, able to challenge the status quo and build high-performing teams
Experienced in collaborating and navigating complex relationships and stakeholders and reporting structures to influence decision-making and deliver business outcomes
You have a career history of working with and scaling early stage, entrepreneurial companies across a range of finance, insurance and technology sectors
You hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Finance and have 15 years’ experience in the financial sector (5 years at a segment or divisional CFO level)
Board experience is an added advantage

About the role
A Partnerships Lead is responsible for managing and developing relationships with key partners within strategic industry verticals to drive growth and success, the Partnerships Lead may manage single or multiple industry verticals. This includes researching potential partner opportunities within the verticals, relationship initiating and building, partnership solution design, leading negotiations, leveraging partners (internal to Old Mutual / Next176 and externally); conducting onboarding and relationship and project management, maintaining contact management systems and records, and monitoring partner performance towards profit targets. The Partnerships Lead will also be responsible for creating and executing strategies to maximize the value of each partnership and tracking industry trends to ensure competitive positioning in the marketplace. Additionally, the Partnerships Lead is expected to provide guidance and support to the team to ensure successful outcomes.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED FOR THE JOB)
