      The basic job duties for this position are as follows:

      • Meet and assist the customer in a courteous and professional manner providing them with the information they need.

      • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information to customers

      • Ensure that incoming inventory is stocked in the correct location.

      • Maintain the parts department in a clean and organized manner.

      • Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and keep the computer system up to date.

      • Retrieves (pulls) purchased parts from inventory or if the requested parts are not in inventory determines availability, prepare parts requisition,and submit order as required

      • If the part is not in stock, determine availability, prepare parts requisition, and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer.

      • Informing customers of any current specials.

      • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.

      • Receives and ships parts in accordance with company policies

      • Displays parts attractively to generate sales

      • Solicit assigned accounts by phone

      • Issues credit for parts returned, in accordance with company policies.

      • Advises Parts Manager of any inventory discrepancies and if areas of the department are not in good condition

      • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company’s Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors.

      • Assists in inventory control to achieve maximum turnover in accordance with established goals

      • Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean

      Qualifications

      • High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)

      • Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment

      • Strong interpersonal and time management skills

      • Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents

      • Ability to calculate figures/amounts including; discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume

      • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
