      Position Overview:

      As a Pathologists' Assistant at University Hospital, you will work alongside a team of expert pathologists and laboratory professionals, playing a critical role in the dissection, documentation, and diagnosis of a wide range of pathological specimens. This is a hands-on, highly specialized position in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that will allow you to use your skills and expertise to contribute to world-class patient care.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Perform gross dissection of surgical specimens, including tissue biopsies, organ specimens, and lymph nodes.
      • Assist in autopsy procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and specimen collection.
      • Prepare, label, and maintain specimens for microscopic analysis by pathologists.
      • Collaborate with pathologists and lab technicians to ensure precise and timely diagnoses.
      • Ensure all work complies with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
      • Participate in education and training of pathology residents and other healthcare professionals.
      • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper safety and cleanliness protocols are followed.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in a biological or related science required.
      • Completion of an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program
      • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, pathology, and laboratory techniques.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
      • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
      • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
