What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage patient registration, including verifying identity and selecting correct patient records
- Review schedules and physician orders to register patients for appropriate services
- Explain and complete regulatory and compliance documents during the registration process
- Greet patients and families, answering questions and guiding them to appropriate service areas
- Perform scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge duties as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of two years of customer service and/or data entry experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Six months of previous healthcare experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer keyboarding skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in oral and written forms
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree considered in lieu of two years of experience
- Experience in a healthcare setting
