What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and validate insurance eligibility and prior authorization for medical services
- Communicate with third-party payers, healthcare professionals, and customers to prioritize requests
- Verify patient registration and confirm benefit coverage, including deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses
- Collaborate with provider offices to clarify documentation and ensure medical necessity
- Document work in case management module and provide direction to cross-functional teams
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital or clinic setting required
- Understanding of medical terminology and insurance background required
- Proficient in using office equipment and computers
- Strong communication and organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Post-secondary education in a related field is helpful
- Experience with case management or utilization management processes
- Familiarity with Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN) and waivers
- Knowledge of healthcare data management and reporting
- Experience in customer service within a healthcare setting
