What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Process manual and electronic posting of insurance and patient payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Identify denials and escalate for further review
- Manage incoming payments and ensure accurate recording in the financial system
- Submit insurance claims and track their status, following up on unpaid claims
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and outstanding balances
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2-3 years of experience in healthcare billing, insurance claims processing, or payments management, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of medical billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with insurance policies and healthcare billing regulations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally
