What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee daily payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payment to all employees
- Manage payroll inquiries and provide customer service via various communication channels
- Coordinate biweekly payroll processing, including auditing and verifying payroll items
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Partner with internal and external teams for system testing and enhancements related to payroll processing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related field
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
- Proficiency in using payroll systems, preferably Workday HCM
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with collective bargaining agreements and payroll reporting
- Familiarity with tax filing and reconciliation processes
- Previous experience in a higher education environment
