What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead a team of fiscal analysts in processing payroll transactions for approximately 1,800 agency employees
- Assign duties, distribute workloads, and manage professional staff within the Payroll and Compliance group
- Collaborate with Human Resources and provide consultative services on payroll activities
- Conduct audits to verify payroll accuracy and compliance
- Manage processing within HRMS, Benefits 24/7, and other systems to maintain accurate employee compensation and benefits
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree with 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting
- Four years of relevant professional experience in payroll, human resources, or timekeeping processes
- Experience in managing payroll activities and compliance
- Knowledge of accounting and fiscal procedures
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- A Master's degree in a financial-related field
- Certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager, or Management Accountant
- Experience working in a government or public sector environment
- Bilingual abilities or dual language skills
- Familiarity with HRMS, Benefits 24/7, and AFRS/Workday systems
