Job Description Nemours is seeking a Payroll Specialist for our Jacksonville, FL location.
Primary Function: The Payroll Analyst job duties will include participation in the preparation and maintenance of records and reports related to payroll, employee information, timecards and benefits, to ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions.
Essential Functions: - Process key activities within the payroll function to support the overall processing of accurate and timely payrolls while working cross-functionally with other departments, i.e., HR, Benefits, IS, Accounting/Finance
- Handle employee tax setups and year-end processing of W2s
- Research and process tax changes or adjustments and payroll exceptions
- Handle Benefit related entries for refunds and changes, process contributions and refunds for pre-tax benefits including HSA & FSA
- May be responsible for system/application testing (i.e., upgrades, tax updates,) where applicable, may participate in HR system or payroll implementations and other payroll projects and process improvements for assigned payrolls
- Process verification of employment requests, ACH rejects, check replacements and bank file verifications and assist with employee direct deposit set-up
- Process time entries, PTO accrual entries and audits via Kronos
- Process year-to-date balance adjustments within the payroll system
- Respond to inquiries for resolution should a payroll question or need arise via email, phone, tickets from associates via Service Now or the Harmony (Oracle) Help Desk
- Perform accurate and timely completion of end-to-end payroll processing for on-cycle and off-cycle (supplemental) payroll runs, configure gross to net payroll, process special payments to include: additional compensation, bonuses, certifications, severance payments, stipends, relocations and retro pay.
Job Requirement: High School Diploma
3-5 years of payroll experience
Fundamental Payroll Professional Certification (FPP) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certifications preferred.
