Job Description

- Respond to incoming calls, applying your thorough knowledge of Telluride, the Resort, and the Destination to effectively assist guests and answer questions.
- Skillfully service general information calls, ensuring guests’ needs are fully met.
- Support the VP of Sales and Marketing with administrative tasks such as creating donation certificates, submitting invoices, and reviewing TelSki websites to ensure updated, accurate information is being displayed.
- Convey messages accurately and timely and route calls efficiently
- Operates PBX or multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel. Hours from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday- Friday
- Respond in a positive, professional manner to all guest inquiries, concerns and complaints whether in person or on the telephone.
- Retrieve messages from voice mail and forward to appropriate personnel or when possible make call personally.
- Answer questions relative to the organization and provide visitor and callers with address, directions, and other information.
- Special projects as directed and assigned.
- Provide a guest experience that exceeds the guest’s expectations.
- Promotes and commits to recycling initiatives.
- Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of and adheres to Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.
Summary: The PBX operator is the center of information for Telluride Ski & Golf. The PBX Operator provides first impression for our guests and effortlessly delivers our guest experience over the phone. The PBX Operator provides accurate information and makes quick decisions to ensure guests reach the correct department efficiently.

Qualifications:

Education:
A High school education or equivalent experience is required.
Language Skills:
Clear, effective English written and verbal communication skills are required, with a second language helpful. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Explorer, Outlook Internet software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word and Processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities:
An excellent phone manner and the ability to smile through the phone line is essential.
Previous communications or switchboard experience is helpful.
The wage for this position is $23/hr.
