What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Apply key principles of peer support during communications with individuals in crisis
- Utilize crisis call protocol to connect callers to the crisis line when necessary
- Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for all interactions
- Participate in required trainings and team meetings
- Utilize online chat, text messaging, and social media platforms effectively
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Certified Peer Support Specialist or dually certified as an MDHHS Peer Recovery Coach
- Minimum 1 year paid work experience in a similar role
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in relevant software and applications
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and motivational interviewing
- Previous experience in a behavioral healthcare setting
