What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify insurance coverage benefits and estimate out-of-pocket costs for genetic testing
- Process exceptions and rejections from automated eligibility systems
- Submit authorization requests for genetic testing with required documentation
- Follow up on authorization statuses and coordinate with clients for missing documentation
- Identify and report issues related to insurance verifications and authorization requests
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of CPT codes, medical terminology, insurance plans, and ICD-10 codes
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent computer skills
- 1+ years of experience in obtaining approvals for prior authorizations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 1+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory, especially in genetic billing
- Understanding of verification and authorization guidance
- Familiarity with different payer plans and benefit criteria
