      JOB OVERVIEW

      Competent in engineering discipline and has thorough site knowledge. Able to carry out diagnosis and correction of equipment problems and the maintenance of Production Equipment.

      KEY ROLES

      1. To ensure all mechanical/electrical equipment within the department works consistently and reliably and at the highest possible efficiencies.
      2. To maintain the equipment in good working order both now and for future.
      3. To constantly improve the performance of the equipment by modifications and innovations.
      4. To immediately act upon defects found by yourself or reported to you by others.
      5. To ensure critical spares are identified and if justified are held in the Engineering Stores.
      6. Play a positive role in the training of existing and incoming production and engineering personnel.

      Critical Tasks

      1. Minimize down time caused by machine breakdowns.
      2. Rectify equipment faults and investigate their causes where applicable.
      3. Ensure all guards are adequate, reporting any that are not.

      Critical Skills

      1. To install new items of equipment and ensure they work effectively.

      Qualifications

      RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

      Experience in a similar role is desired for this role.
