      Job summary

      Main responsibilities

      Dispensing

      Such duties will include

      1. Picking and labelling drugs for Pharmacist to countersign

      2. Bagging and distributing dispensed medications

      3. Handing out bagged-up medications

      4. Following Controlled Drug procedures

      5. Ensuring patient makes appropriate exemption declaration on reverse of FP10 and follow Prescription Pricing Authority guidelines for monitoring of these declarations

      1. Sorting, counting, checking and endorsing FP10s in line with NHSBSA guidelines

      2. Checking endorsement of pack size and specific drug names

      3. Checking exemption declarations

      4. Submitting FP10s in line with the NHSBSA guidelines

      Qualifications

      Essential

      • NVQ 2 dispensing from accredited training provider.
      • 6 months relevant experience working in a primary care environment in the last 2 years
      • Experience of working with the general public
      • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
      • Experience of working in a community setting and/or working with patients.
      • Able to demonstrate team working

      Desirable

      • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
      • Strong IT skills
      • Clear, polite telephone manner
      • Competent in the use of patient record management systems: SystmOne
      • Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
      • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
      • Good interpersonal skills
      • Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
      • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
