What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze and resolve professional coding complaints in collaboration with Customer Service to ensure patient satisfaction
- Identify and analyze coding denials, coordinating data collection for reporting and tracking trends
- Research and document coding and billing rules, developing standardized processes for the coding team
- Prepare monthly coding update reports to educate on coding recommendations based on findings
- Provide regular statistical reports to leadership regarding rejection/denial volumes and identified trends
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of professional coding experience and at least 3 years in payer background experience
- Advanced training beyond High School in Medical Coding Specialist from an accredited program
- Certification as a Coding Associate (CCA), Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), or equivalent from recognized organizations
- Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines and medical terminology
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic coding systems
