      Manitoba Public Insurance is currently accepting applications for term PIPP Payment & Records Clerk opportunities on our PIPP Support Services team. Although many of our clerk roles start out as term placements, many have the potential to become permanent.       What is PIPP? PIPP stands for Personal Injury Protection Plan, and all Manitoba residents have injury claims coverage whether they own a vehicle or not. PIPP also covers visitors to Manitoba who are injured in an accident if a Manitoba registered vehicle is involved. Coverage also extends to all Manitoba residents if injured outside the province in Canada or the United States.

      As a PIPP Payment & Records Clerk, you will be a part of the dynamic team that assists in converting all incoming PIPP related injury claim documentation into electronic format. The receipt and proper validation of this information triggers a workflow for the appropriate users to ensure timely claim management.

      Responsibilities

      • Process payments in accordance with established procedures, standards, guidelines and fee schedules and best practices guidelines.
      • Verify invoices and account details for completeness, validity, valuation and authorization.
      • Ensure that reserves, coverages and preauthorization of goods/services exist on a claim prior to processing an invoice for payment.
      • Enter invoice data and ensure invoice and payment details are correct.
      • Receive and physically prepare documents for the scanning process. This includes batching documents based on document type and provider and identifying and confirming claim numbers on all incoming documents.
      • Review scanned images to confirm legibility and correct issues as required.

      Qualifications

      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Two years of office experience including electronic records administration or data entry, and dual verification/validating practices.
      • Ability to perform basic calculations.
      • Excellent keyboarding skills.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
      • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy is required.
      • Ability to prioritize workloads and meet strict deadlines.
