      The Role:

      As a member of the Global Supply Chain (GSC) team, you will be providing support to the plant utilizing lean strategies.

      You will be tasked to work as One Team with VS Material & the LMS Execution Team to execute all Product Programs, manage funding for Material & LMS Launch initiatives. You will also plan and support execution of all Plant Lean Material Strategies including optimization, material flow, material routings, storage space requirements, mobile equipment, layout development, storage areas, kitting, small lot strategy, sequence planning, PFEP, etc.


      What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

      • Implement standardize material flow and material handling processes and measure compliance to benchmark

      • Develop / understand long-term Material & LMS Vision for the plant

      • Maintain productivity scorecards & LMS Wall

      • Drive Material Planning Metrics (DPP & DPPN) to be applied in North America

      • Develop efficient Material Route Planning (GMOS), Dock Strategies, Material Flow,

      • Develop & track to Master Dot milestones & Deliverables

      • Drive & execute common standards, processes, and lean designs.

      • Integrate Lean Manufacturing and GM-Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles

      • Provide updates to plant staff and Program Team as required

      • Drive problem solving issues for throughput and quality issues

      • Analyze existing operations and propose continuous improvements (CI)

      • Optimize floor space, materials, personnel, and equipment

      • Develop, track, and implement budget allocation

      • Facilities design, layout, and processes that reduce cost/ achieve operational efficiencies.

      • Provide support for execution and readiness activities related to steady state and major launches.

      Additional Job Description

      Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

      • University degree or equivalent experience and education, in a related technical field.

      • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing

      • Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes

      • Knowledge of Supply Chain Process

      • Presentation and problem solving skills with comfort in presenting findings to all levels of the organization.

      • High level of analytical ability, especially where problems are unusual and difficult

      • Ability to work across all shifts

      What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications):

      • Industrial Engineering degree

      • Knowledge of work measurement/work standards, ergonomic principles, material optimization, and facility layout

      • Ability to develop and execute all phases of Lean Material Systems to create the most efficient, leanest designs for the entire GM Enterprise.
