Job Description

- Installs, alters, maintains, and replaces or repairs plumbing systems or fixtures such as sinks, toilets, faucets, showers, or drains in the County buildings and facilities
- Reviews and monitors the work of vendors/contractors
- Installs, alters and maintains steam, air and hot and cold water lines
- Works from building plans and drawings
- Assists with estimates required for labor and materials on plumbing installation, repair jobs, and scheduled work
- Requisitions and maintains tools, equipment, and related materials
- Provides back-up assistance to other labor trades classifications
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
- Availability to respond to emergency calls during other than normally scheduled hours
- Completion of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma equivalent
- One year of experience as a journeyman level plumber
- Must possess and maintain in good standing, a valid Illinois driver’s license.
- Must possess a Plumber’s license issued by the State of Illinois.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow certificate within one (1) year of hire.
- Must also possess or have the ability to obtain an Asbestos Certificate within one (1) year of hire.
