Job Description

- You will perform motorized or walking patrols of the installation.
- You will determine shortest and safest routes to and from destinations.
- You will perform law enforcement duties at fixed posts such as entry and exit gates throughout the installation.
- You will set up and conduct checkpoint/roadblocks at various locations throughout the installation.
- You will warn and/or use force to restrain and apprehend violators.
- You will issue military citations for violations of laws and regulations.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- The DON does not employ individuals for Law Enforcement Officer positions who have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence on or after 27 November 2002. You must submit DD Form 2760, Qualification to Possess Firearms before appointment.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license; and be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Must successful complete a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Must meet uniform requirements; and must maintain program weight appearance and grooming standards per Marine Corps Orders/policies.
- Must successfully pass a sanctioned job compatibility/psychological examination.
- Must successfully pass a sanctioned physical agility test and medical evaluation; and pass periodic re-tests as required.
- As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, must be able to train and wear personal protective equipment to include mask, suit, boots, and gloves.
- Must meet medical standards for the Police Officers in DOD 6055.05M and Navy Marine Corps Public Health Center Technical Manual (NMCPHC-TM) OM 6260.
- This position is subject to work other than normal duty hours and shirt work which include nights, weekends, overtime, and/or holidays to meet mission requirements.
- This position is subject to 24-hour recall. Will maintain a recall notification number and is required to respond per installation policy/SOP.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that provided knowledge of basic laws and regulations; law enforcement procedures and operations in performing routine, recurring kinds of fixed post assignments, regulating access to buildings; governing rights of individuals; AND conducting security perimeter patrol.
GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least six months of general experience that includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws; AND six months of specialized experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property.
Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.
