      Job Description:

      Essential Job Functions:

      • Demonstrated ability to provide supervision for the Family Peer Advocate position and support the activities outlined in the essential duties and responsibilities section, which encompasses advocacy and peer support activities.

      • Represent PPWS and RPG Services and clients served in a positive manner to staff, community agencies, and community members.

      • Treat all persons served and their families with dignity and respect.

      • Oversee the services provided by PPWS and RPG staff to ensure persons served are safe, healthy, well-informed, included in decision making, included in their individual plans, and to ensure their rights are protected.

      • Collaborates and plans services with the PPWS and RPG Children’s Coordinator.

      • Collaborate to maintain the treatment process, intervention strategies, clinical protocols, administrative procedures, and evaluation methods.

      • Collaborate closely with the Project Director to monitor project process and outcome compilation of all evaluation and client data collected by grant staff.

      • Oversee and ensure the training program for personnel following grant requirements.

      • Provide assistance, training and job shadowing to staff in client’s home, as appropriate.

      • Assist with quality assurance and outcome management processes.

      • Assess the needs of persons served, the resources available to meet those needs, and the legal and/or policy requirements governing service delivery to persons served.

      • Track and monitor the progress of the families and children served.

      • Collect and apply data to improve outcomes for children and families.

      • Meet the project’s quality improvement and evaluation requirements.

      • Ensure that service delivery is performed according to the project’s goals, policies and procedures, and service philosophy.

      • Provide case consultation and in-service training, as appropriate.

      • Conduct PFH staff performance evaluations quarterly.

      • Adhere to all HIPAA and 42 CFR requirements.

      • Must maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens, HIPPA, and Ethics.

      • Must have a valid driver license, acceptable driving record and current vehicle insurance.

      Documentation Responsibilities:

      • Complete progress notes in DAP format detailing counseling services rendered to each client utilizing the PFH database. Progress notes must specifically address one or more identified goals included within the client’s Treatment Plan. Progress notes must be completed in full within 72 hours of service provided.

      • Document missed appointments and interventions with persons served.

      • Ensure that goals concerning Substance Abuse, Mental Health, and Relapse Prevention and other applicable domains (e.g. Grief and Loss, Self-Esteem, etc.) are adequately addressed within each client’s Treatment Plan. Ensure updates for Treatment Goals, Target Dates, Completion Dates, and additional identified goals are recorded in a timely manner.

      • Complete a discharge summary in PFH Database per grant requirements and PFH policy.

      • Maintain a record of all clinical supervision sessions to include date of session, start and stop times, description of supervision topic, name of presenting supervisor, and name of attending supervisees.

      • Document employee performance for all supervisees a minimum of once annually using Performance Evaluation forms specific to each supervisee job position, as well as quarterly reviews of progress.

      • Document employee violations of organization’s Code of Conduct or formal on-the-job recommendations using the PFH designated form.

      Stakeholder Responsibilities:

      • The Coordinator should be prepared, as requested, to present at scheduled staffing and court sessions. This may include being prepared to report on clients’ progress including but not limited to attendance, urinalysis results, issues of non-compliance, and progress on treatment goals.

      • Attend community meetings and interface with community agency professionals as requested by Project Director to represent PPWS Services and educate staff on current events and community developments.

      Other Responsibilities:

      • Participate in scheduled Management Team meetings as led by the Project Director.

      • Participate in team meetings with grant staff.

      • Lead team meetings with staff and clients as requested to provide interventions addressing client behaviors, conflict resolution, or client crisis management and assist with in-home services as needed to assist clients in meeting their treatment plan goals.

      • Monitor staff’s accomplishment of Performance Evaluation and Professional Development goals and adherence to recommendations.

      • Provide initial on-the-job training to new clinical team members and arrange training/shadowing schedule to ensure position competencies are sufficiently addressed.

      • Collaborate with supervisees to prepare individualized Professional Development Plans. Monitor staff’s accomplishment of goals and adherence to recommendations.

      • Oversee Client Chart Reviews per grant requirements and meet with supervises to develop corrective action plans as necessary.

      • Respond to Requests for Change received from persons served pertaining to clinical service needs.

      • Complete Incident Reports and submit to Project Director for review within 24 hours of receiving knowledge of reportable events as defined by the PFH Incident Definitions.

      • Adhere to all HIPAA and 42 CFR requirements.

      • Must maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens, HIPPA, and Ethics.

      • Other duties as assigned.


      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Ability to read, comprehend and follow written materials and instructions.

      • Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.

      • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the work environment.

      • Awareness of need for, and ability to abide to confidentiality, professional ethics and code of conduct.

      • Good organizational skills, time management skills and ability to prioritize work.

      • Comprehensive understanding of clinical theories, modalities in treatment methodology, AUD, SUD and co-occurring disorders, knowledge of women’s and family issues in recovery, and sound ethics is required.

      • A combination of life experience, skills, and education which would build the skills to operate a complex program, supervise personnel, advocate for persons served, and participate in long range quality improvement planned is preferred.

      • Possess a working knowledge of ASAM, and relevant Missouri Child Welfare and court standards.

      Experience and Education Qualifications:

      • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field

      • Three years of demonstrated leadership ability

      • Must possess and maintain MCB credentials at the highest level. (MAADC II minimum) CPS/MRSS Supervisory training through MCB

      Supervisory Requirements:

      • Provide supervision and oversight to Family Peer Advocates, Intern and/or Practicum Students.

      • Indirect supervision and collaboration with the PPWS and RPG Children’s Coordinator.

      • Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by associates.

      • Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of services provided.

      • Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.

      • involve, as appropriate, all associates in order to achieve goals.

      • Effectively communicate to associates any changes and news worthy events within the department.

      • Handle difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individuals.

      • Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.

      • Reinforce team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels.

      Employment Requirements:

      • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record and abuse/neglect.

      • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

      • All training requirements including Relias Learning at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

      • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

      • Must have and maintain certification in CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens.
