      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are seeking to recruit anexperienced, highly motivated Practice Nurseto join our friendly, innovative team who are committed to delivering high standard of patient care.You will need to have previous experience working in primary care and have a fully rounded set of skills. You will work both independently and as a member of our multidisciplinary team and will be fully supported by clinical and non-clinical staff.

      • Chronic Disease Management/Long Term Conditions within the clinic setting
      • Health Promotion
      • Cervical cytology & teaching breast awareness
      • LES/DES/QOF related clinical and administrative work
      • Routine immunisations / Childhood immunisations
      • Travel health advice and vaccinations
      • Smoking Cessation
      • Flu, Pneumococcal, Shingles and Pertussis in Pregnancy vaccinations
      • Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs and acting on results
      • Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post

      • Job responsibilities
      • Provision of health advice to patients.
      • LES/DES/QOF related clinical and administrative work
      • Manage long-term conditions including Asthma, Diabetes, COPD
      • Undertake immunisations, injections and vaccinations.
      • Provision of health checks for both newly registered patients and the NHS health checks.
      • Provision of travel advice.
      • Venepuncture and the taking and preparing of pathology samples
      • Actioning results of pathology samples
      • The maintenance of health promotion literature and information for patients.
      • The inputting of information onto the Practice clinical system.
      • Use of Practice clinical system for patient searches for clinics and patient recall.
      • Ensure that infection control procedures are followed.
      • Attendance at training sessions and meetings as required.
      • Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures
      • To maintain NMC registration and professional membership.
      • The maintenance of treatment room equipment, including testing and recording.
